Energy, Climate Change, and the Environment The ArapaHOPE Community Team is a local organization that advocates for the issues important to our community. ACT is beginning a series of discussions around energy issues, climate change, and our environment. Most importantly, we would like to discuss what we, as ordinary citizens, can do to take on some of these problems facing us today. Come join us and put in your two cents. Then stay for our guest speaker: Wade Norris from Project to Relocate and Assist Environmental Refugees (PRAER). TRICK OR TREAT

Come make a trick or treat bag and start collecting your goodies at the Perk. Supplies provided by Wash Perk and On a Lark. Professional photographer at On a Lark. Free medium drink for grown ups in costume! More treats than tricks to be announced! We will be creating a “safe route” from our shop to Lloyd and Maxwell Wine and Spirits at Kentucky and Pearl. The route will go from Ohio to Clarkson to Kentucky (to Lloyd and Maxwell) then loop back via Washington.  They will offer treats, as well!

Pie in the sky event for Project Angel Heart

Purchase your holiday pies online from Project Angel Heart and make life a little sweeter this holiday season for someone battling a life-threatening illness. Choose among delicious cherry, apple, pecan, and pumpkin pies, all generously donated by Bluepoint Bakery. Every pie you purchase allows Project Angel Heart to deliver 5 nutritious meals to a client coping with illness. Project Angel Heart hopes to sell 3,000 pies to raise vital funds for its home-delivered meal program.

How to order
To purchase your pies, visit www.projectangelheart.org. Each freshly baked pie sells for $25.
Pie orders must be made between October 15 and November 15.

Picking up your order
Pick up your pies from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, November 24, at metro- area Sunflower Farmers Market locations (Arvada, Littleton, Denver West, Denver South, Aurora South, and Highlands Ranch), Project Angel Heart, or Crossroads Church (Northglenn) – just in time for the holiday! Pies not picked up on November 24 will be donated to Project Angel Heart clients for Thanksgiving.

All pies are generously donated by Bluepoint Bakery, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting Project Angel Heart.

WWPNA Membership Meeting

October 21st, 7pm-9pm, at 790 S. Corona St. in the basement meeting room of Epiphany Lutheran Church.   This meeting will be held as an information booth style format, in which you can just browse the topic booths that interest you and speak one on one with members. Topics include: Zoning Code, WWP Green Team, Platte River Greenway, and standing committees (Crime and Safety, Communications, Land Use and Transportation)

Please just stop in and meet our neighborhood association volunteers if you haven’t yet, and find out how you can get involved or at least informed about issues concerning West Washington Park and it’s neighbors!

We are engaged in recruiting and motivating volunteers to end modern day slavery, through volunteer-initiated projects (open source activism) and in our own advocacy, detection and victim support initiatives.
