Hike for Hospice

Sunday, Jun 27, 2010 at Olinger Mount Lindo
This is the fifth annual Hike for Hospice at Olinger Mount Lindo. The event supports Porter Hospice and St. Anthony Hospice, the hospice programs of Centura Health at Home. For more than twenty five years, these programs have helped thousands of people through their end-of-life journey, giving them comfort and peace at a time when they need it most.
All funds raised from Hike for Hospice at Olinger Mount Lindo go directly back into our hospice programs to provide assistance for patients and their families including: chaplain and bereavement support, integrative therapies, and palliative care for children through the Butterfly Program.

Kelly went to the Telluride Film Festival and was so affected by this 1 hr film that she bought it for all of us to view. Teri will supply popcorn; BYOB (alcohol is fine). We’ll watch and discuss, but mostly we’ll  just have a fun evening.

Washington Park Garden Tour


Sat, June 19, 9am – 2pm in the Washington Park Neighborhood
The Washington Park Garden Tour – benefiting The Denver Hospice – is set for June 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors can peek into 10 fantastic gardens – from tiny to huge, that include everything from xeroscaping to water features. The presenting sponsors for the tour are Ron Buss and Coldwell Banker. The tour starts at 903 S. Corona St where people are handed a map and can ride bikes, take one of Jay’s Pedicabs or stroll from garden to garden. Tickets are available in advance for $15 at www.thedenverhospice.org or $20 the day of the tour at 903 S. Corona St.

LIVE MUSIC: Building 58  – Sat, June 12, 2pm – 4pm
A year after self-recording their debut album, Fire & Ice, Will Parkhill and Zack Sulsky have reunited, along with Eli Acosta and Noah Herman to become Building 58. Playing mostly original music that focuses on lyrical and musical literacy, Building 58 blends rock, folk, and jazz influences into a sound all their own.

Welcome Andrea Eder!

Andrea is a student at South High and a neighbor.  Andrea started working at Wash Perk around five weeks ago as a register/bus-person.  Sorry it’s taken us this long to properly welcome her on the blog!  She has been an amazing addition to the shop, so hardworking and enthusiastic.  We’re lucky to be her very first job :-D

Both Annie and Kristen are new as well and we’re waiting for pictures!
