BEGINNING THIS WEEK

DESSERT NIGHT THURSDAYS: New selection each week from Simple Sugar Bakery.  We will announce on Facebook each Tuesday what the dessert pick will be for Thursday night (available 4-8pm, with HAPPY HOUR LATTES 6-7pm M_F). We will trial this for 4 weeks, at your suggestion, to see what the interest will be.  Thanks for your suggestions and for helping us to grow.

 

UPCOMING:

The Wash Perk Perkolator Donates Weekend Sales to MS150 and The Wild Bunch Team :  JUNE 4th and 5th; come see us at our NEW LOCATION East of the Pavilion/Boathouse.  Wild Bunch Team members will be with us through parts of the weekend.  Steve Meyer won the coffee bike naming contest and he chose this cause as recipient of a weekend of sales. The MS150 is a 2 day bike ride June 25th/26th to raise money for The National MS Society.

WASH PERK’S TV DEBUT

Wash Perk and the newly named PERKOLATOR coffee bike are lucky enough to be featured this week on 9News on Wednesday, May 11th from 6-7am, LIVE at shop.  PLEASE come join us if you can drag yourself out of bed!  Gregg Moss and Jennifer Ryan will be at shop looking to talk to YOU who have helped us survive through this recession. Jennifer Ryan has already spent around 5 hrs with us and the coffee bike, both at shop and at Washington Park.

The Perkolator name was given by Steve Meyer and won the popular vote.  Thank you all for participating.  Steve chose the MS 150 to be the recipient of a weekend of Perkolator sales at Washington Park. This is his prize :-P We will announce the weekend very soon on Facebook and on Wednesday with 9News.  The MS 150 is a two day fundraising bicycle ride on June 25th and 26th benefitting The Colorado-Wyoming Chapter of The National MS Society.

FANS May Cleanup: Wednesday, May 11th 6pm-7pm  at Dos Chappell Bathhouse.  Clean up areas will be: Smith Lake Edge, Lily Pond edge, and general area around bathhouse.   VOLUNTEERS please stop by Wash Perk before the clean up or the next morning and get a FREE MEDIUM DRINK.  Thanks for helping to care for our park.

COMING THIS WEEK!


Our BIRTHDAY/EASTER/BIKE celebration will take place next SUNDAY, APRIL 17th from 11am-1pm.  Brian Spinner and Vicki Phillips had the idea to host a PARK TO PERK BIKE AND BUNNY RIDE from Wash Park (Exposition and Downing) to Wash Perk.  We are encouraging all participants to decorate bike and/or themselves and enjoy a fun short procession behind the Easter Bunny and our new COFFEE BIKE.   We’ll leave park at 10:45 am and head to shop where we’ll enjoy FREE TREATS, PHOTOS with BUNNY, LIVE MUSIC (Jeff Friedlander and Friends) and CRAFTS for kids.

Debbi and I and all of us here at Wash Perk feel so grateful for all of your support in getting us to our 3rd Birthday. THANK YOU.

Bird Walk: Sunday, April 17th  9am. Meet Candice again at The Boathouse for some bird watching.  Bring your binoculars!  FREE for paying members, $5 for non members.

City Councilman at Large Candidate Forum: Tuesday, 3/22 , 7pm-8:30pm at St, John’s Lutheran Church, 700 S. Franklin St.

Perk Cycle will be at Washington Park on Fri, Sat, Sun.  8:30am-5pm.  Right now we are month to month at Washington Park, as permits are very limited.  We will post on Facebook and website if we change spots or hours.   We feel so fortunate to have gotten such great coverage with The Denver Post.  Thanks to Colleen O’Connor and Vicki Phillips.

Around the Perk this week:

St. Patty’s Day Parade: Saturday, March 12th at 10 am-2pm, beginning at Coors Field parking lot.

Perk- Cycle will be at the start and finish, supporting the Denver Bike Sharing Program and B-Cycle peeps.  

We welcome Gisma Zaki to our Wash Perk family.   Gisma has some developmental/language challenges, and she is fully capable of contributing significantly to our community and care of shop.  Please introduce yourself to her if you see her around.
