  • MWWP MeetingWednesday, August 19, 7:30am – 8:30am @ Whole Foods Market
    Merchants of West Washington Park Association meeting. We meet the third Wednesday of each month. This will be our 4th meeting. New location will be discussed and dues collected at this meeting.
  • Denver Boot Camp Saturday, August 22, 10am – 11am @ the Washington Park Recreation Center
    Denver Boot Camps is becoming the biggest program in Denver. It is already the toughest, but worth the results. For both men and women, it is the program if you want to burn over 1000 calories in an hour, while slashing pounds of fat and toning your muscles. It’s a great way to tone that sexy female body or to lose those love handles for the guys. The instructor is someone, who’s actually been to boot camp, a former Marine. The program is perfect for everyone because you are pushed to your own personal limits. We have everyone out there; the out of shape, new moms, future brides, marathon runners, and triathlon participants. Ticket Info: $7 FIRST CLASS FREE This is a weekly class.   • Washington Street Community Center Neighborhood BBQ and Resource Fair Saturday, August 22, 11am – 3pm @ the Washington Street Community Center at Washington and Ohio
    A small donation of $5 ($3 for kids) will get you a bratwurst, hot dog, or burger, with chips, a drink and dessert. Also, check out the Neighborhood Resource Fair and learn about recycling & the environment, Registered Neighborhood Organizations, crime prevention, churches, elder care, GLBT resources, and more. Visitors to the booths will receive a special card punched for drawings with great prizes from local businesses. Winners need not be present.   • Race For Research Sunday, August 23, 8am – 11am at Washington Park
    Event Information: Race for Research is a fun/run/walk organized in memory of Michele Plachy-Rubin. Michele was diagnosed with brain cancer in December, 1996. Michele fought the disease valiantly but, tragically, lost her fight in May of 1998. Michele’s friends and family continue her fight against cancer through the Race for Research. All proceeds from the Race will be donated to the Cancer League of Colorado. Sport Type: Running Distance(s): 5K;   Event Certifications/Sanctions: USATF Prize Money;  Is this event chip timed? YES
